This course provides students with the skills and knowledge in conceptualising, planning and executing events for the ‘Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions’ (MICE) and events industry.

The course duration is 1.5 years to 3 years.

What you'll learn

  • Coordinate project requirements detailed in the project plan.
  • Support and manage delegates/attendees for a positive event experience.
  • Handle the execution of multiple activities in project plans.
  • Make independent incremental improvements on the steps to execute project plans to enhance efficiency.
  • Handle event logistics on administrative support, onsite coordination and site inspections.

Entry Requirements

3 GCE ‘O’ Level Grades:

(i) Grade 1-7 in English Language;

(ii) Grade 1-8 in Mathematics (Elementary/Additional);

(iii) Grade 1-7 in one other subject.

 

OR

 

Nitec in Services qualifications (Business/Services Skills); or

Nitec qualifications (Business/Services Skills); or

Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 in Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing and Numeracy, and one year relevant work experience; or

Completed four Foundation modules.

 

 

Applicants who do not meet the above entry requirements will need to complete Foundation modules before taking Core/Specialisation modules.

 

Entry requirements for Foundation modules:

2 GCE 'O' Level Grades (Grade 1-8) in any two subjects; or

3 GCE 'N' Level Passes (Grade A-D or Grade 1-5) in English Language and two other subjects; or

Nitec qualifications [non-related]; or

Nitec in Services qualifications [non-related]; or

Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 in Speaking and Listening, and Level 4 in Reading and Numeracy.

Higher Nitec in Services - Event Management graduates are employed by Professional Conference/ Exhibition/ Event organisers, Destination Management companies, event companies, venue operators, hotels and many other organisations responsible for organising and managing seminars, meetings, conferences and special events. Some of the job titles held by graduates include Events Coordinator/ Executive and Project Coordinator/ Executive.
