Course Coverage
Do you know the fastest lift in the world travels at over 70km/h or where is the highest escalator? While we hope this essential services could move a little faster and highest, have you ever wondered what will happen if a lift or an escalator exceeds its design load or speed?
This diploma
course prepares you for a professional career in the Lift & Escalator under
Built Environment sector. You will be equipped with the skills, competencies
and knowledge to perform high-level lift maintenance, servicing, inspections
and fault diagnostics, as well as manage and supervise new lift installation or
upgrading projects, in compliance with all relevant standards, regulations and
codes of practice.
Prerequisite:
Skillful,
motivated team player, who aspire to lead and work with a team of different
categories of worker; good initiatives, higher troubleshooting & fault-finding skills and competencies; to provide essential lift and escalator services
to the community. Trainees must have good communication skills to provide
advice customers and clients; administration skills to perform report
documentation and record work done.
Job Role:
Assistant
Lift Engineer / Principal Specialist / Supervisor – Supervises/Manages a team
in performing lift inspection with Authorised Engineers; higher competencies in
maintenance, servicing and fault diagnostics, in compliance with all relevant
standards, regulations and codes of practice, as well as to carrying out new
lift installation; modernisation – or upgrading projects.
Training pattern:
Day Release - Trainees attend lessons at ITE for one day per week and spend the reminder of the work-week at the workplace for OJT.
