Power & Control

This specialization strengthens your expertise in sustainable energy and smart building systems, opening doors to exciting careers. You'll be prepared to tackle in-demand areas like electric vehicle charging station, solar power and battery storage systems, and intelligent control for home and building.

Lighting & Sound

Launch your career in live entertainment with this specialized program! Gain the skills and knowledge to bring shows to life across the industry. You'll master lighting, audio, and visuals, from installation and operation to customization. Plus, through real-world experience with leading event and AV companies, you'll see the exciting world of live entertainment and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) up close.

What you'll learn

  • Ensure all electrical and related works are carried out in compliance with electrical and BIM drawings, specifications, relevant workplace safety and health regulations and codes of practice
  • Manage maintenance of electrical motor installation and control systems
  • Manage maintenance of electrical installations, electrical equipment, intelligent control, smart monitored emergency lighting, fire and lightning protection systems in buildings

 

 Power & Control Specialisation:

  • Manage operation and maintenance of smart home, intelligent building control and remote monitoring and data analytics systems
  • Manage operation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic system, electric vehicle charging system and battery storage system

Lighting & Sound Specialisation:

  • Liaise and coordinate with clients relating to the requirements of lighting, sound and visual media systems
  • Read and interpret drawings and diagrams of lighting, sound and visual media systems
  • Supervise packing, safe transportation and unpacking of lighting, sound and visual media systems
  • Set up, install, test, operate and maintain lighting, sound and visual media systems
  • Implement on-site safety programmes and ensure that lighting, sound and visual media systems for events and performances comply with regulations and requirements

Entry Requirements

Admission to Year 1 of the 3-year curriculum structure:

GCE 'O' level grades in any 2 subjects:

  • Grade 1-8

or

GCE ‘N’ level passes in Mathematics and 2 other subjects:

  • Grade A-D or Grade 1-5

  • Applicants for this course must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency.
