This Work-Study Diploma course aims to equip trainees with the skills, knowledge and professional attributes to support IT system infrastructure, end-user computing devices, as well as to perform IT service operations and incident management to ensure smooth running of the IT systems for business operations.

Prerequisite:

  • Work well with others in a team environment
  • Able to articulate and discuss ideas, thoughts and information effectively to achieve common outcomes
  • Able to understand and co-relate information from multiple disciplines to synthesise knowledge and insights, as well as  guide decisions

 

Job Role:

An Infrastructure Support Engineer support IT system infrastructure, end-user computing devices, as well as to perform IT service operations and incident management to ensure smooth running of the IT systems for business operations. The work he/she performs includes the following:

  • Support IT system infrastructure
  • Deploy Client Desktop Applications
  • Manage end-user computing devices
  • Perform IT service operations and incident management

 

Training pattern:

Hybrid Release - Trainees attend daily lessons at ITE for a continuous period at the start, and after will attend lessons for one day per a week and spend the remainder of the work-week at the workplace for OJT.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:

  1. ITE graduates from any one of the following courses + pass company screening & interview;

    Nitec with GPA ≥ 2:

    • All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology

    Higher Nitec:

    • All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology

    OR

  2. In-service employees+ with:
    • Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above
    • Relevant work experience
    • Strong employer endorsement

+In-service employee may be invited for an admission interview

Career Opportunities

Work-Study Diploma in Cloud Management & Operations (Infrastructure Support) graduates are employed by companies and organisations in the ICT sector.

Some job titles held are Associate Infrastructure Support Engineer and Associate Systems Support Engineer.
