A well-designed IT system works together as a coherent unit that supports responsive change and make businesses work more efficiently. There is a constant demand for trained IT system support engineers in implementing and maintaining data infrastructure and providing IT solutions that deliver value to an organisation.

This diploma course prepares you for a professional career in the Infocomm Media sector. You will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to deploy and test infrastructure hardware and software, as well as apply analytics and automation to optimise operational stability, efficiency and reliability of the infrastructure system.

 

Prerequisite:

The Associate Infrastructure Support Engineer is required to be on standby with on-call availability with varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

He/she should be a team player and proficient in infrastructure systems and network-related tools and techniques required by the organisation. He/she is expected to be familiar with the relevant software platforms on which the database is deployed.

He/she should be able to solve issues quickly and effectively as they arise. He/she is expected to methodically identify the cause of the issue, evaluate it and develop a solution in collaboration with the team. He/she is able to communicate effectively and displays high service level standards.

 

Job Role:

The Associate Infrastructure Support Engineer performs routine infrastructure operations and maintenance activities. He/She assists with monitoring infrastructure performance. He checks for problems in existing systems and modifies work processes by following defined procedures, processes and quality standards.

 

Training pattern:

Block Release - Trainees attend daily lessons at ITE for a continuous period and then resume the next block of OJT at the workplace.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:

  1. ITE graduates from any one of the following courses + pass company screening & interview;

    Nitec with GPA ≥ 2:

    • All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology

    Higher Nitec:

    • All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology

    OR

  2. In-service employees+ with:
    • Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above
    • Relevant work experience
    • Strong employer endorsement
    +In-service employee may be invited for an admission interview

Work-Study Diploma in IT System Integration graduates are predominantly employed by the IT industry as Associate Infrastructure Support Engineers.
