Are you fascinated by how Digitization and Emerging Technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) software, DfMA and 3D Printing have revolutionised the way buildings will be designed, produced and constructed?

Do you know what makes a modern building smart, comfortable and efficient? Are you keen in designing buildings mechanical & electrical (M&E) systems using Building Information Modelling (BIM) and AutoCAD software?

Be part of the Built Environment workforce equipped with the technical expertise to create smart sustainable green buildings that have adverse impact on our health and environment. Sign up for this course and you will be able to develop skills and competencies to design modern buildings systems such as Air-conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation, Electrical, Plumbing & Sanitary, as well as Fire Detection and Protection systems.

You'll emerge as a specialist in BIM modelling (M&E) or CAD designing, among many exciting careers that await you!

This course equips students with skills and knowledge to interpret and prepare M&E engineering drawings, such as air-conditioning and ventilation, electrical installation and control circuits, fire detection and protection systems, water and gas supplies, sanitary systems, with the use of CAD software and Building Information Modelling software, and create BIM models for building and construction needs, according to designer's sketches and specifications in compliance with architectural drawings and relevant Codes of Practices.

What you'll learn

Prepare working drawings and assist in the design of the following building facility systems with application software:

  • Air-conditioning and ventilation systems
  • Electrical installation and control systems
  • Fire protection and fighting systems
  • Water supply and sanitary systems
