Gamify with Virtual PCVirtualisation is the act of creating a virtual version of computer hardware, storage devices and computer network resources. It is part of the foundation for cloud computing. Students will learn how to install an Operating System (OS) into a virtual machine software, explore virtual hardware and create fun games with easy-to-use coding tools in virtual machine (VM). The module hence aims to equip students with deeper understanding on IT concepts such as real-world cloud gaming and virtualisation, and other essential IT skills sets for the Infocomm Technology Sector through the activities.Related ITE Course: Higher Nitec in IT Systems & Networks
At the end of the module, students will be able to:Understand what is virtualisation/VM and cloud computing.Install an OS in a VM.Understand the fundamentals of a computer architecture.Navigate within virtual Single Board Computer (SBC) OS such as changing settings, using various features and adding/removing software.Understand what block-based programming language is.Create fun and creative games in VM.
